"mom, can you make me a dress?"

I hadn't realized it until the other day that Anna had grown out of all of her dresses. Since we go to church every Sunday I thought I'd better make her some dresses. Plus, one night in bed she asked me if I could make her a new dress for church and that it needed to be made with my pink/red apple fabric.

This dress I made from the new Sandi Henderson Claire pattern. This pattern is nice because it goes from size 6 months to size 8 - so great if you're wanting to make matching/coordinating outfits for all your girls. Plus, you get 3 different dresses and 1 shirt with this patterns, so worth the money. And like Tracy mentioned before, just trace your size with patternease (which you can get at Joanns for $1.99 plus a coupon). I would suggest doing this for your expensive patterns. If you paid $1 for the pattern at Joanns it's not worth your time. Anyway, back to the dress - it was super easy to make! Probably only took me an hour or so max. I omitted the apron though - I'm not sure how I feel about the aprons sewn into the dresses. Maybe I'll change my mind later.
Here's the one she asked for. I can't help but love this pattern. Plus, she can wear it year round and with leggings next year. Gotta love that with growing kids, right!?

yeah, i bought them off of etsy here:

i'm not sure how i feel about them though. the lady was nice to work with and the tags are exactly the way we discussed, i just don't know. maybe a cute little design would have been nice or something (if i had one). they are printed on fray proof material and are a bit stiff. hopefully they will relax a bit w/ time and washing.

I'm not sure that I would order them again, but I don't hate them either. They were only $10 for 40.

I think I am going to have to get the round neck top dress pattern--you keep making things from it and it is so cute--looks easy too. I just picked up material and a pattern yesterday to make my DDs Christmas dress. It has sequins in the embroidery of the fabric--anything I should know about that--tips? I also really like those Sandi Henderson patterns. I want the ruffle pants.

The christmas dress cute. you'll have to let us know if you post it on your blog so we can check it out!

btw - no tips on the embroidery, but it sounds pretty.

i have the ruffle pants pattern from sandi henderson. i'll have to give it a try and do a little review for you!

I was also wondering, when you print patterns online (like the round neck top dress) what do you print it on? Do you just use regular paper, cut it out and then lay it on your fabric or do you print on some sort of tissue? I finished a skirt and matching button ponytail holders (both from your tutorials) for my niece last night! Yea and thanks!

I just print it on regular printer paper. it's a little stiff for patterns, but not really a big deal. you can always print more. . .
